Town of Talking Rock Notices & Bids


The Town of Talking Rock is closing its recycling repository. Recyclables may be dropped off through this Sunday, February 6, 2022.

Beginning Monday, residents should utilize the Pickens County Recycling Center (PCRC) located at 390 Appalachian Court, Jasper, GA.

The PCRC collection hours are:
8:00 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday


The Talking Rock town council has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require and increase in property taxes by 100%.

All concerned citizens are invited to attend one of three public hearings on the tax increase to held on August 23rd, August 24th at 7pm at the Talking Rock Townhall and on September 9, 2021 (rescheduled from 9/21/21) at 6:30 also in the Townhall.

The tentative increase will result in a millage rate increase of 4 mills, with a Local Option Sales Tax roll back of 2 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage will be no more than 1 mill. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $150,000.00, is approximately $120.00.

Heritage Days Festival is held on the third full weekend in October and is the highlight of the year in Talking Rock. Vendors from around the state join with shop owners for a 2-day festival, that includes food, fun and music.
